The GWR Pavilion has now been open for 4 weeks. In that time a staggering 44 Guinness World Records have been set, as well as hundreds of official attempts.
A new record was introduced to the Pavilion a couple of weeks ago for the fastest time to type 1 to 50 (will a full stop in between each number) on a keyboard. This has proven really popular with the public and continues to be broken on a regular basis. The record stated at 34.16 seconds, five attempts later it down to 17.37 seconds. This means this record has been slashed in half since it began!
Some other records are proving harder to beat. The very popular record for the most sand moved in 30 seconds (using a teaspoon) has not bean broken for three weeks and stands at 192 ml.
As well as new records being set and broken at the Pavilion there are long standing GWR’s that have now been smashed at Global Village. The fastest game of Operation was 1 minute 2 seconds set by a surgeon back in 2001; this has now been broken 7 times by members of the public. This fun record is now down to an impressive 21.87 seconds.
Visitors to Global Village are clearly loving the opportunity to practise and set a Guinness World Records Record and join our elite club!
