They could have possibly “danced” around the challenge, or “boxed” themselves in to “curl” up in defeat… but instead, 605 energized people performed all three manoeuvres – plus a choreographed assortment of other steps – to “lunge” to a Guinness World Records™ triumph for the largest simultaneous videogame exercise routine.
On 22 May 2009, the EA Burnaby Campus Sports Field – encircled by picturesque fir trees and snow-capped mountains – became RecrEAte fitness trainer Carl C’s boot camp ground to lead participants through the EA SPORTS Active workout.
Guinness World Records Adjudicator Danny Girton Jr personally verified the largest simultaneous video game exercise routine record attempt, and presented Executive Producer of EA SPORTS Active, Dave McCarthy, with an official Guinness World Records certificate.
Burnaby, British Columbia-based EA Canada developed EA SPORTS Active exclusively for the Wii™ as a “fun… first in a new line of EA SPORTS virtual fitness products to improve the well-being of people of all ages”.
