Peel’s Salon Services is hosting the “World’s Largest Hands-On Workshop” for Cosmetologists during their 2010 Spring Show!

 “The World’s Largest Hands-On Workshop” with over 600 cosmetologists cutting hair at the same time. Peel’s Salon Service is hosting the first event of this magnitude, in conjunction with their Spring Show, April 10, 2010.   The event has been submitted to Guinness World Records for approval to break the record of the “Most People Cutting Hair”.

At the end of a fabulous day of education and exhibits, over 600 licensed Cosmetologists will join Phillip Wilson the Global Creative Director for FHI Heat, and the entire educational team from six Xenon International Academies, a Pivot Point Member School, to set a world’s record.  Phillip will lead the event from a large concert type stage on Saturday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, while the skilled Xenon educators assist amongst the crowd.  All cuts will be done on live models simultaneously for 15 minutes.  Each participant will receive a professional gift of shears, a water bottle, clips, combs, cape, tool belt and a mannequin with stand all placed in a workshop event bag with their certificate of attendance.

This event has created quite a stir in the professional salon industry.  At this date over 500 participants from across the country have enrolled with just word of mouth advertising and the excitement that has been created. When asked why this is such an exciting event, hairdressers say that “This type of challenge and comradery is what our profession is all about.” Participating salons will have the opportunity to have group pictures taken on the red carpet during the Show, and will receive “I’m a World Record Setter” media support to share with their customers.

We will also be selling observation tickets for $10 each for those who cannot participate in the hands-on portion of the workshop.  All proceeds from the observation tickets, as well as a silent auction held during the weekend, will go to The City of Hope.
