During the course of his varied career Dr Darren has been exposed to gamma radiation, attacked by a radioactive invertebrate and worked with genetically modified mutants. He has so far failed to gain any super powers and is recovering from the trauma that perhaps Stan Lee and Marvel have been lying all these years.

Dr Darren no longer spends his time working with crabs (although he misses their crazy side walking antics). He is now based in Buckinghamshire where he works for an organisation named after a crab, and lives in a small house which he shares with his wife, daughter and some Sea Monkeys.

He has a collection of 347 crabs.
