On the 13th May 2008 Paddy Doyle {GB}set a new World Multi Strength Fitness Record at Stamina's Boxing Martial Arts Club, Erin Ga Bragh Sports Centre B'ham UK. Doyle completed five fitness strength disciplines in 9 hrs 55 min's: 130 back of hands push ups with a 40 lb back pack on shoulders. 833 step ups carrying a 40 lb back pack on a 15 inch bench. 82 . 84 metres indoor rowing. 133.56 kilometres on indoor cycle. 220 shuttle sprints {30 feet} carrying a 40 lb back pack. Besides achieving the latest World Record Title Paddy also broke three other 1 hour strength fitness records. However it was a gamble going for the fitness endurance records, reason being he had a chest infection and was on penicillin, plus he had stitches in his left hand which he sustained from training. Since 1987 Paddy Doyle has been entered into the 1990 - 2008 Guinness book of World Records, a total of 45 times, his records have been listed in the sports section of the Guinness Book of Records. The toughest World Record he attempted was the Guinness World Record Physical Fitness Challenge Title, which is percieved as one the Worlds toughest World strength speed stamina challenge. Doyles hardest fitness endurance records which he has achieved are;
. Most push ups in a calender year, total 1,500,230. Averaging 4000 per day.
. 1 mile back pack run carrying a 40 lb back pack, time 5 min's 35 sec's.
. Most sit ups in 30 min's with 50 lb weight on chest, total 932.
. Most one arm push ups in 5 hours {using right arm only} total 8,794
. Most squat thrusts in 1 one hour, total 3,743.
. Most freestyle boxing karate rounds. 2 min's rounds, 10 sec rest break. Results -141 rounds, 117 wins, 24 losses. {World United Martial Arts Association {GB} sanctioned event.
Starting from the 23 December 2007, Iron Man Doyle is aiming to achieve the most fitness endurance events in a calender year, they will be most push ups, most sit ups, most miles carrying a 40 lb back pack across hills / mountains, most freestyle karate boxing rounds, most step ups carrying a 40 lb back pack, most punch strikes hitting boxing pads, most distance rowed, most miles cycled, most weights lifted. Intensive training for his next World Record. Paddy Doyle is coached by his training team for the Guinness World Records Day Challenge event 8th November 2007. When preparing for an official World Record Title, Doyle's daily training workout would consist of the following -
. 10 mile speed march carrying a 40 lb back pack
. 5 to 6 rounds of full contact boxing martial arts sparring
. 5 mile cycle
. 500 sit ups
. 30 minute's bag work
. 100 back of hands push ups
. 5 mile rowing
. 5 circuits of the strength endurance workout challenge whilst carrying a 40 lb back pack. Consisting of carrying 300 lb weighted tyres over a 30 metre shuttle sprint course, carrying 200 lb dumbells around a 60 metre course, 40 medicine ball push ups, 100 para jumps, 200 sit ups. The training workout is monitored by his training partners and assistant martial arts black belt instructor Paul Jones {GB} and Nigel Perry {GB} martial arts student and former competitor.
